Our Club

The Beaconsfield Pistol Club is situated at Kenilworth Road, Beaconsfield (Ref to Location) in a bush setting between the Pakenham train line and the Berwick bypass. The Beaconsfield Pistol Club was formed originally in 1959 shortly after the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne. The Beaconsfield Pistol Club is affiliated with the Victorian Amateur Pistol Association (VAPA), Pistol Australia (PA) and the International Sports Shooting Federation (ISSF). These bodies in various ways govern our sport, produce rules for pistol matches and authorise our existence with statutory Government Departments.

The facilities include 2 outdoor shooting range sections, a 10 bay indoor air pistol range, a clubhouse including a kitchenet and a reasonable car park. Members are welcome to use the ranges for target shooting practice and weekly competitions. Competitive pistol shooting has a number of different grades of performance, starting with Master Grade down through A,B, C and D.

The Beaconsfield Pistol Club is a non-profit organisation, run by volunteers for the benefit of the membership, with a Committee elected to oversee the functioning of the Club. Members are expected to participate in 8 hours working bees order to maintain the upkeep of the Club and in up to 2 desk duties on a Saturday during the year. (only those with full licenses do desk duty.)

The club currently is open on the following days:

Many of our members work with the State Junior Development Squad, the State Juniors, officiate at open competitions, worked at 2005 Deaflympics and Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Shooting Events and the Aus Cup 2012.

Beaconsfield Pistol Club is a family friendly club which allows children under the age of 12 with in the club rooms. (Pets also welcome.)These children must be under direct supervision of a parent or guardian while on the site. Many of our older club members have brought the children along in the past and now these children are part of our juniors within the club. We have the most juniors in the state at Beaconsfield Pistol Club. To this end we now have the State Coaching Director coaching these juniors every Thursday night from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.
